Canadian North sets up Dedicated Line to handle Cargo Customer Inquiries
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
March 12, 2007
YELLOWKNIFE . . . Canadian North has moved quickly to minimize the impact to its
cargo customers in Iqaluit after a fire on Saturday, March 10, destroyed the
Canadian North cargo warehouse in Iqaluit, Nunavut.
The fire, which was discovered at approximately 05:20 am on Saturday, March 10,
destroyed the Canadian North cargo warehouse and damaged an adjacent equipment
storage area. Thankfully, there were no injuries as both buildings were empty at
the time.
“Our primary concern at this point in time is to assist cargo customers that
have lost freight in the fire, responded Tom Ruth, President, Canadian North.
“We have established a temporary, dedicated cargo information line in our office
in Iqaluit, and customers can call either (867) 979-6802 or (867) 979-5232 to
receive information regarding their shipments”. In addition, customers can go to
Canadian North’s website and click on “Iqaluit Cargo Information” to receive
updates and to assist customers in filing a cargo claim for lost freight.
“I want to send out our sincere condolences to all of our customers that have
been affected by this tragedy,” said Tom Ruth, President Canadian North.
Additional personnel have been allocated to ensure Canadian North is responding
quickly to customer’s inquiries and to facilitate cargo claims. He went on to
say, “The entire Canadian North cargo department is working together to help our
customers through this unfortunate situation. I am very proud of the tremendous
effort and focus they are bringing to minimizing the impact to our customers who
have incurred a loss as a result of the fire, as well as re-locating to a
short-term facility from which to operate out of in Iqaluit.”
As an interim measure, customers in Iqaluit can pick up and drop off freight at
Nunavut Services – 1559B Federal Road, until further notice. Shipments into
Iqaluit can be tendered at any cargo facility as per standard procedures and
freight is expected to move as scheduled. Flights that operated on Sunday
throughout Canadian North’s network, including service to Iqaluit, operated
without incident or major delays.
“We also want to thank the Iqaluit Fire Department for acting so promptly to
ensure the safety of all involved”, said Canadian North Customer Service
Manager, Blake Fraser, adding, “We are very grateful for the many offers of
equipment and support from members of the community and would like to thank
everyone for their understanding and patience during this period”.
All Canadian North’s flights are operating as scheduled and no delays or
disruptions are expected as a result of this incident. Canadian North will be
providing regular updates through the media, on-line at
www.canadiannorth.com
and through our toll-free cargo number at 1-866-663-2223. The airline will also
run advertisements informing cargo customers of significant developments.

for the increased fall exploration travel season.
Canadian North Cargo leases Dash-8 freighter to meet increasing cargo demand by
providing dedicated freighter service into Yellowknife and the Mackenzie Valley.
This newly leased Dash-8 freighter will provide Yellowknife, Norman Wells and
Inuvik with enhanced cargo services by offering weekday cargo-only flights. On
Saturdays, a 737-combi aircraft will provide oversize lift and additional
capacity for general cargo. The addition of the Dash-8 freighter will provide a
significant increase in air cargo capacity to meet the growing demand for cargo
uplift throughout the Mackenzie Valley. The F-100 service will also allow for
daily belly-loaded freight capacity.

Canadian North announces schedule and aircraft changes to
Edmonton/Hay River/Yellowknife Service
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
June 12, 2006
YELLOWKNIFE, NWT ... Canadian North announced today that it would be dedicating

goes into scheduled
service on June 18, 2006 as follows:
| Day |
Flight |
Depart |
Arrive |
| 1-3-5-7 |
5T468 |

5T469 |

Calgary 1745 |
In announcing the introduction of the Dash-8 service, Tom Ruth, President,
Canadian North said: “The
Hay River market is very important to Canadian North. However, recent changes in
the northern
competitive market have necessitated the requirement to consolidate some
selected flight segments.
Current traffic levels between Hay River and Yellowknife do not support the use
of our larger, jet aircraft,
and in order to maintain the current schedule between Hay River and Edmonton,
the decision was made
to lease a Dash-8 to operate that route and to suspend the Hay River/Yellowknife
service.”
He continued saying: “We will be monitoring traffic volumes into Hay River as we
expect future passenger
traffic to increase as the economic base in that market continues to develop. We
will re-evaluate our
service levels and adjust schedule and equipment as required.”
Kelly Kaylo, Vice-President Marketing & Sales at Canadian North believes the
Dash-8 is the right aircraft
for the Hay River market.” The Canadian built, 37 seat Dash-8 is the right sized
aircraft to serve the Hay
River market in an efficient manner.” She said. “It is comfortable and very
reliable. The aircraft is equipped
with 2x2 seating, washroom and overhead storage bins. In-flight service will
continue,” She also noted:
“The schedule continues to provide convenient connections out of Edmonton and
Calgary.”

New Canadian North Fokker F-100
Passenger Jet Takes Flight
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
June 4, 2006
YELLOWKNIFE... Canadian North’s new Fokker F-100 passenger jet took flight today
as the Yellowknife based airline’s newest fleet addition, departed Calgary’s
International Airport bound for Yellowknife, Hay River and Edmonton, on its
inaugural flight.
Canadian North’s acquisition of the fuel-efficient 105-seat aircraft marks the
airline’s ongoing growth and development as Canada’s largest northern owned and
operated all-jet airline linking the major communities of the Northwest
Territories and Nunavut with southern Canada.
Tom Ruth, President of Canadian North in announcing the aircraft said, “This new
aircraft represents a significant investment in our fleet expansion by adding
additional capacity and flexibility while increasing our overall operating
efficiency.” He continued saying, “the F-100 all passenger aircraft compliments
our existing 737 passenger and cargo fleet, allowing greater flexibility in
responding to our passenger and cargo customers throughout the north. It will
also allow Canadian North to enhance its growing charter operations which are
making a significant contribution to our revenue base.”
The F-100 features a spacious cabin, very comfortable seating and is well suited
for Canadian North’s award-winning Aurora Class service. Kelly Kaylo, Vice
President, Marketing & Sales for Canadian North, is excited about the market
opportunities the new aircraft provides. “Not only will we be better able to
serve the growing needs of the northern market and in particular, projects like
the Mackenzie Valley Pipeline,” she said, “but we will also be able to attract
new customers by pioneering new routes and services as northern markets
develop.”
The new F-100 aircraft is very special in another way. Its registration mark, C-GPNL,
includes the initials of Pat Napachee Lyall who passed away October 24, 2005.
Carmen Loberg, President of the NorTerra Group, Canadian North’s parent company
explained; “ Pat was Chairman, Vice Chairman and Director of the NorTerra Group
from 1985 to 2003. He was instrumental in guiding Canadian North in a positive
and progressive direction during that period. Pat’s vision was to provide the
transportation infrastructure necessary to link northern and southern business
throughout Canada. The inclusion of his initials in the new aircraft’s
registration mark recognizes and honors his contribution both to Canadian North
and all northerners.”
The Canadian North fleet currently includes five Boeing 737-200C combination
passenger/cargo aircraft, one Boeing 737-200 all passenger aircraft and one
Fokker F-28 jet that will be phased out once the new F-100 aircraft is fully
integrated into the fleet.
Canadian North is a member of the NorTerra Group of Companies whose parent
corporation, NorTerra Inc., is owned equally by the Inuvialuit Development
Corporation representing the Inuvialuit of the Western Arctic and by Nunasi
Corporation representing the Inuit of Nunavut.
